Description
Core Specifications & Design
- Dimensions: Typically 16.5 x 12.7 x 12.7 cm (6.5″ x 5″ x 5″).
- Structure: Consists of a rigid plastic framework that is wrapped in an ultra-fine, soft nylon mesh fabric.
- Mounting: Attaches directly to the rim of the main aquarium glass using two adjustable metal mounting strips or hanger clips, fitting tank rims up to 4 cm thick.
Primary Aquarium Functions
- Breeding and Fry Protection: It acts as a floating safety chamber or hatchery for pregnant livebearers (such as Guppies, Mollies, and Platies). The fine mesh prevents newly born fry from escaping while shielding them from adult predators in the main tank.
- Isolation for Sick or Weak Fish: It functions as an in-tank quarantine space for wounded, diseased, or frail fish. It protects them from being bullied by healthier tankmates while allowing them to stay in the familiar, cycled water of the main tank.
- Aggression Management: It can temporarily contain aggressive fish that are disrupting the aquarium community.
